History
In 1987, North Canterbury farmers and cousins Rod McKenzie and David Meares decided to create a service for their neighbouring farms which gave more transparency across prices being paid by the processing companies.
The Agrifax service was born, and grew into a trusted and reliable range of commodity pricing data products and analytical reports on New Zealand's leading agricultural sectors for subscribers. The reports were faxed to clients, making them the quickest source of information at the time. Nowadays they're emailed.
Dairy Week was launched in 2000, the first dedicated electronic news service specifically designed for the Australian and New Zealand dairy industry. With approximately 50 articles per issue, compiled by industry experts, it quickly became the authoritative source of information in the industry.
In 2006, Agrifax was acquired by NZX Ltd, the leading New Zealand owned and managed company which operates New Zealand's only registered stock exchange.
In 2008, NZX Ltd acquired Dairy Week.
